BBQ sauce is the official taste of summer. Food smothered in barbecue sauce matches perfectly with warm evenings, outdoor parties, and everything else you love to do in the summer time. When deciding what you want to eat next, don't forget these three simple and fun ways to use barbecue sauce.

Barbecue Pizza

Homemade pizza is easy, and delicious. To make a barbecue pizza, you need to either make or buy a pizza crust. Take the barbecue sauce and cover the crust like you would with a normal pizza sauce. Add precooked chicken and some onions if you would like. Cover with your favorite cheese and bake until the cheese is nice and bubbly.

Barbecue Wings

Wings are a cinch to make, and are one of the best party snacks. Take some uncooked wings and mix them with vegetable oil, salt, and pepper. Cook them at 350 degrees for twenty minutes. Then flip them over and cook for another twenty minutes. After they bake thoroughly, mix the wings and barbecue sauce.

Barbecue Burgers

There are two different ways to add barbecue sauce to a burger. One way is to spread some sauce on the burger after it is cooked. Another way is to mix the sauce into the ground beef before you cook it. Either way adds a delicious layer of barbecue sauce flavor.

However you choose to get your BBQ sauce fix this summer, try some of Deli Direct's award-winning barbecue sauce.

Barbecue sauces are a summer staple in many homes. There's barbecue sauce on the hot dogs, barbecue sauce on the chicken, maybe even barbecue sauce on the steak! Best of all, of course, are huge, meaty rips slathered in barbecue sauce, fresh off the grill and falling apart between the plate and your mouth.

But what about the other months? There are many, many things that can be done with barbecue sauce without ever setting foot outdoors--and plenty of yummy foods that can be whipped up with no trouble at all.

Snacks

Barbecue Smoked Sausage

Cut up two packages of smoked sausage (smoked turkey sausage has an awesome flavor) and place in your slow cooker. Add 1 1/2 cups of barbecue sauce mixed with 1/4 cup water; stir a couple of times to coat; and cook on low for 5-6 hours or high for 3-4. This is a perfect game day or party day snack that doesn't take a lot of effort. It cooks itself while you aren't paying attention--what more can you ask for? This snack also works well with mini hot dogs.

Meatballs

Pick up one bag of frozen meatballs. Cover with one bottle of our Big Bad Bubbas BBQ Sauce (around 1.5 cup size). Cook in slow cooker for 2-2.5 hours. For a twist, wrap your meatballs with bacon first, and cook in the oven on 375 for 12 minutes to make a crispy, perfect snack that's hard to beat.

Meals

Barbecue Salmon

Barbecue probably isn't a flavor that you usually think of when you think of salmon, but it makes a great, familiar-tasting dish that'll get rave reviews from members of the family that don't always appreciate fish (for example, the small, short ones who always have something to say about whatever you've cooked for them). Brush both sides of your salmon pieces with barbecue sauce, then place on a baking sheet. Bake at 425 degrees for around ten to twelve minutes. Your salmon is done when it flakes easily with a fork.

Barbecue Cups

This is one of those "ultimate comfort food" recipes that you love to have in your back pocket for a day when you need something warm and filling in a hurry.

Ingredients:

  1. 1 lb ground beef
  2. 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
  3. salt and pepper (to taste)
  4. 1 cup of cheddar cheese (shredded)
  5. 1 can of biscuits or crescent rolls.

Brown the meat, seasoning with salt and pepper to taste. Cover with 1/2 cup barbecue sauce; mix well to combine. Press each biscuit into a cup of a greased muffin tin. Spoon the beef and barbecue mixture into the cups and sprinkle with cheddar cheese. Bake according to the package directions for the biscuits or crescent rolls, aiming for the end range of the cook time. These will vary according to the package you've chosen. Serve warm.

Did you know that Meat Week and National Cowboy Poetry Gathering Week both kickoff this month? It’s true. The first weekly observance normally begins on the 25th and the second one starts on the 26th. So why not stock up on grilling meats and other treats that are perfect for filling up your favorite cowhands’ saddlebags? We’ve got a list together for you filled with goodies sure to put even wily sidewinders on their best behavior:

NY Strip Steak

Tops on any red-blooded cowhand and meat lovers’ list has to be 8-ounce NY strip steaks. That’s why we’re starting our list off with them too. We’ve got 10-count cases of USDA Choice baby! They’re hand cut from the most juicy, marbleized sections of the cow and sealed at the peak of flavor. So don’t let your resident chuck wagon cook overdo it with the spices or marinades. As a matter of fact, we’d suggest preparing them with nothing but our signature charbroiled flavor seasoning.

Smoked Curls & Sticks

Next on our list are smoked curls and sticks. They’re perfect for urban cowpokes as well as those who truly live on the range. Plus, they come in two fantastic varieties, beef and pepperoni. Consequently, you can let them sit on a southwestern meat platter bareback or saddled with a smidgen of spicy Santa Fe Sauce.

Shredded Beef Jerky

Shredded beef jerky is another item that would be wonderful for cowhands on the run. The expertly prepared jerky comes in 3.84-ounce cans, which can easily fit in saddlebags, pockets and purses. Plus, the tins can be saved after the jerky is gone and repurposed as your family sees fit.

Center Cut Chops

Okay, so we know that many range riders prefer beef but we can’t leave beautiful, 7-ounce, center cut pork chops off of our list. After all, back in the day, cowboys and gals were known to eat wild or domestic hogs too. To add to the “home on the range” ambiance, top them with some of Big Bad Bubbas BBQ Sauce and serve them with a side of beans.

Specialty Dips

Oh, and for a final flourish, don’t forget to break out the dips. Two great ones to consider serving this month are Gringo Guacamole and Western Ranch. They’d taste wonderful with everything from thick steak fries and tortilla chips to freshly cut vegetables. Hey, cowhands have to eat their greens too!

We all know that BBQ sauces are a great condiment when we are grilling on a summer weekend. However, you do not need to put the bottle away just because the weekend (or warm weather) is over. There are many different ways to enjoy your favorite BBQ sauce throughout the rest of the week and year. These are some of our favorite ways!

Chicken Sandwiches:

Do you want to add a bit of tang to some leftover chicken? Shred the leftover chicken and pour some barbeque sauce over top and mix. For a little crunch, you can add some matchstick carrots. This will make an easy tasty sandwich filling.

BBQ Pizza:

Try something different on pizza night. Skip your usual traditional pizza sauce, and replace it with a bottle of barbeque sauce. Top the pizza with some chicken, onions, bell peppers and some of your favorite cheese for a great tasting pizza.

Nachos:

Nachos are a great staple for game day or movie night but if you want to kick up the flavor, add some BBQ sauce. Brown the meat of your choice as you typically would do. Instead of using your traditional nacho seasoning, stir in some BBQ sauce. Layer the meat on top of the nacho chips, and add your favorite toppings. Consider adding black beans, corn and some diced tomatoes; they make a nice complement to the sauce. Do not forget the cheese. Place the nachos in the oven long enough to melt the cheese.

Cupcakes:

When we think of BBQ sauce, dessert usually is not the first thing that comes to mind. However, you can make cupcakes with BBQ sauce for a unique dessert. Your guests will be surprised when they learn about your secret ingredient! Add some sweet BBQ sauce to your favorite chocolate cupcake recipe. The chocolate and BBQ sauce make for a tasty combination. Carefully add the sauce to taste and do not use more than a ½ cup. Bake as directed.

Do you use our BBQ sauces in other recipes? We would love to hear from you! Plus every recipe submission gets a free dip! Please feel free contact us with any suggestions or questions.

Lets all be honest here… food makes the world go round. Now take a moment and think of every fun story or party you have been apart of. I would bet that somewhere in that story was food! Whether the food made the moment better or if the food was better the event would have been improved. Either way food is at the center of these stories.

For your fun future weekend story or party you want to make sure that you and your friends have a positive memory about the food of course! Here are three recipes guarantied to make your night a hit!

A summer BBQ can be the highlight of the season when it is done right. Serving the right food and having the right entertainment can make your BBQ the talk of the summer. Here are just a few of the ways you can ensure that happens.

First, have some games or entertainment set up around the yard. This can be as simple as having a radio playing some upbeat music, but you can go a bit further than this. You could have a beanbag game for people to toss around. You could have a couple footballs or frisbees scattered around. Any other small game you can think of to lay out for people to play will add to the overall feel of the day. They probably won't play for hours on end, but they will probably pick it up to play for a few minutes. It will ensure that the BBQ remains upbeat and fun.

A BBQ is not all about what goes on the grill. There are salads, chips, and desserts that work to make the meal what it is. Consider making a potato salad or a pasta salad. You could even branch out to something more creative like a broccoli salad or baked potato salad. Really, all you are looking for is something cool and creamy to counteract the grilled food that the meal surrounds.

You will also want plenty of snacking foods for people to munch on while you grill, and after when you are simply enjoying the weather. Various kinds of chips, salsa, and other dips are easy to put out and pull the whole thing together. Don't forget about dessert at your BBQ. Something simple or fruity usually goes along well with this type of meal. It is comfort food that is also a bit refreshing. Think of whipped jello or berry crisps.

Of course, the center of the entire party is around the grill. If you want to ensure that you are making the best food possible, don't forget to pick up some Big Bubbas BBQ sauce. It's tangy, delicious flavor will boost the tastes of chicken, burgers, pork, or whatever else you are slapping on the grill. Big Bubbas BBQ sauce is also great for dipping. You can use it on the grill, off the grill, and in place of any other dipping sauce you may be using for meats or appetizers.

Summer BBQs are the reason everyone looks forward to this season. Make it the best you possibly can with fun entertainment, great food, and Big Bubbas BBQ sauce.
